Program for Youth Ballet 1/1A/2/2A (11 and under)

A ballet technique and conditioning class will be offered every day as well as other classes including contemporary and jazz, choreography classes, and ballet history!  Classes and hours will be Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 12:00pm.  Aftercare is offered until 5:00pm each day. 


Ballet 2A will  also be offering a nighttime program in addition to the morning, specifically focused on advanced technique and beginning pointe. To register for this added session, contact Brianna Melton at briannamelton@stpeteballconservatory.com


What does my child need for the SPBC Youth Summer Program?

ALL:

  • Dance bag to keep personal belongings and dance shoes in
  • Bottle of water
  • Small non-messy snack for mid-morning break 
  • Clean towel

Boys: 

  • Each dancer will need a pair of clean black, ballet flat shoes.
  • Any color solid T-shirt -Black leggings/jogging pants or tights

Girls: 

  • Each dancer will need a pair of clean, pink ballet shoes (leather or canvas) 
  • Any color leotard may be worn with clean pink tights 
  • Dance warmups/shorts may be worn for contemporary or jazz classes. 
  • Hair must be neatly in a bun at all times, unless specified.


What dancers are able to participate in  this program?

  • This program is geared towards those students ages (7-11) who have had 1-2 years of ballet training that want to improve and maintain their technique over their summer holiday. We encourage students to take class with us and learn something new as we explore ballet classics, work hard and have fun.


How much does this program cost?

  • There will be one, 6-week session with a two free performances at the completion of the summer on July 24 & 25. Dancers must be in attendance for the last four weeks of the intensive to be included in the performances. Cost is $125/week. 
  • If attending all six weeks, the tuition is discounted to $650 for the entire summer. 
  • For an additional $50/week, childcare will be provided until 5:00 p.m. each day.


How do I register my dancer?

  • All dancers can register by visiting our website at www.spbc.dance to fill out registration forms under the tab titled,  ‘Summer 2020’ .


What is the after hours childcare?

  • For an additional $50/week, we will be directing the students through fun activities, crafts and games after their lunch hour until 5:00 pm.

What will my child need for the aftercare program?

  • Each child will need to bring a lunch in their own lunch bag/box labeled with their name. (We have a refrigerator and freezer, as well as a microwave, that will be available to use for all students, with adult supervision.) Please be sure to bring your own utensils/napkins/plates/bowls. 
  • Also, please bring another snack/drink if staying until 5:00 pm
  • A bag to keep all of your child’s belongings
  • A change of comfortable clothes to wear after morning classes
  • During the day we will have a time of rest and quiet. Please bring your own pillow, blanket, book, or quiet activity (such as an iPad with head phones) to do during this time.
